A SONIC SCENE EXPLORING THE NOISE OF BOTH, ATHLETE AND MUSICIAN
»WE IN A BOX« is a duet with boxer Everline Akinyi Odero aka Pepe the Lioness and musician Joss Turnbull. By perceiving boxing training as a sequence of sounds, it transforms into an acoustic counterpart to the Iranian training drum, Zarb-e-Zurkhane. The silent, non-stylized moments of breathing, stroking, stretching, and shuffling become the main characters of this beat and sound battle, touching on archaic questions of the 'fighting human.'
